Reversing Global Warming
An Introduction to the Pachamama Alliance and Project Drawdown.
These are challenging times we’re living in. The scope and spectre of the climate crisis is arguably the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced. The magnitude and complexity of the problem can seem completely overwhelming.
People are resigned to the fact that there’s nothing they can do to make a difference. You might be one of those people! Well, good news! There is reason for hope because as you will see, it’s possible to reverse global warming, not just slow it down or limit the damage– but to actually reverse it and restore a healthy climate. It’s not too late!
You’re going to find out about the existing, scientifically researched solutions that if scaled up, can reverse global warming, and most importantly, you’re going to find out about the important role that you can play in bringing it about.
One thing is clear: we’ve got to have a healthy climate; that’s non-negotiable. And that means addressing climate change and reversing global warming.
That’s why the Pachamama Alliance has partnered with Project Drawdown, the group that did the scientific research on reversing global warming with the aim to inspire people and communities around the world with the possibility of reversing global warming, and to support them in Getting into action on the 100 Drawdown Solutions.
What is Drawdown?
It’s that point in time when the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begin to decline on a year-to-year basis. In other words, it’s that point when we take out more greenhouse gases than we’re putting up into the atmosphere.
Every week I will be posting one of the Drawdown Solutions that I have implemented in my home environment and the story around that with the view to sharing the information with like minded community members.
In this course, you’ll explore a new orientation to climate change as you dive into the 100 most substantive solutions for reversing global warming and begin to discover your unique role.
Our mission is to help the world reach “Drawdown”— the point in the future when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline, thereby stopping stopping catastrophic climate change — as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible.
